Best Day

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches January 15th sketch and the mood board challenge at The Studio Challenges. Love the colors in the mood board. They matched perfectly with the Maggie Holmes' 'Carousel' line from Crate Paper that I used. I love this collection. It's so fun. I fussy cut the arrows, title and ephemera.

I used acrylic paints from Vicki Boutin and American Crafts to make the background. I mixed 2 of the paints to achieve the color I was looking for. I added some water to the paint and then painted a ring on a piece of acrylic. I then stamped the image on my background. Pretty cool and very easy.

I also splattered some of the paint around the page along with some black ink spray. Below is the sketch and mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Best Friends

Hey everyone. I have another layout based on Stuck?!Sketches January 1st sketch and the snowflake challenge at The Studio Challenges. I used pattern papers, enamel dots and ephemera from Simple Stories 'Winter Wonderland' line. The snowflakes were cut using dies from Spellbinders.

For the background I applied gesso, and then watered down distress ink with a piece of packaging. After that dried I splattered some watered down water acrylic paint. I love how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out all the inspiration on the SS and TSC blogs.

Together is Our Favorite Place

Hey everyone. Spent the weekend at an awesome crop and got lots done including this take on Stuck?!Sketches January 1st sketch. The photos are of my daughter and grandson at home, perfecting their selfie game. I used Bella Blvd's 'Mind Your Manners' collection. Those little owls are too cute!!

For the background I applied gesso and then using a piece of packaging added some color with Vicki Boutin's art crayons from American Crafts. I fussy cut a few owls and popped them up with foam squares.

I layered some ephemera and stickers to complete the page. Thanks for stopping by.

Dear Santa

Hey everyone. Here’s my take on Scrap Our Stash's new blend a sketch challenge. I will have to admit I had some trouble with this, and it came out totally different than I had originally planned. I used the layout of the second sketch, and the dotted semicircle on the first sketch inspired me to add the ornament banners. You just never know what parts of a sketch will inspire you. For the rhinestone part of the challenge, I scattered some around the flower clusters. I just love these photos of my grandson meeting Santa. He wasn’t scared at all and even pulled his beard!!

I used an older collection from Pink Paislee called 'Snow Village' for this page. The tiny ornaments and flowers were fussy cut from pattern paper. I was also inspired by the January challenge at Scrap the Boys. This month's challenge is to use flowers on a boy's layout. Make sure to check out both blogs for a ton of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Winter

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on Scrap Our Stash's first Golden Globe Stash Challenge. The photos are of my grandson seeing snow for the first time. For the challenge I created a winter themed layout and used winter in the title. For the background I applied gesso first and then using the packaging technique applied some distress ink. I then added some red and green splatters.

The vellum snowflakes were made with a Sizzix die. I then placed glittery clear enamel dots from Your Next Stamp in the center.

I used pattern papers, ephemera and stickers from Simple Stories 'Sub-Zero' collection. To finish things off, I watered down some white acrylic paint, and splattered it around the layout.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for SOS' next new challenge.

Halloween

Hey everyone. Happy New Year !!! Here's my take on the December sketch at The Studio Challenges. I used Fancy Pants' 'Spellbound' collection for this layout of my grandson's first Halloween. The spiderweb cut file was from Just Nick and the glittery enamel dots were from Doodlebug Design. Thanks for stopping by.
